A beautiful black modern type stallion, Rubinus is sired by the famous Rubinstein.
Rubinstein needs little introduction, he was a top sire as well as a very successful Grand Prix stallion with over 40 wins at the Grand Prix level, and also as a member of the German Olympic dressage team. When Rubinstein departed far to early from the world stage at the age of fourteen he left behind a huge legacy, with approved sons, state premium mares, and offspring in sport.Rubinus’s dam is the Elite mare Rocca, dam sire Rouletto descends from the holsteiner Dam line 776, himself a successful dressage competitor up to the advanced level dressage, Rouletto is best known for his breathtaking movement and wonderful temperament; his offspring exemplify his elastic movement, and are popular in the Vechta auctions. The Rouletto offspring, are also very know for their overall athletic ability both for movement as well as jumping ability, they are also know for their high ride-ability. Rouletto has sired several approved stallions, many State premium mares, Bundeschampionat participants in all disciplines, and well as many successful sport horses. Rouletto has also become know as a very good dam-sire.
Dam Elite mare Rocca when bred to Rubinstein also produced the Vechta Elite auction horses St.Pr.A. Rocadera and Royal Rubin. Rocca also produced the approved Oldenburg stallion Rembrandt Royal sired by Rohdiamant.
Great Grand Sire Montevideo was a successful Grand Prix dressage stallion, 1983 European Championships, individual bronze and helped the West German team to back-to-back team golds in the 1983 and 1985 European Championships. 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, team gold and 6th individually. Other major accomplishments include a team gold and an individual silver at the 1984 German Championships and an individual silver at the 1985 German Championships. Montevideo was known to produce very rideable horses, with very good movement, who also jumped well.
In 2003 Rubinus successfully completed both his 30 and 70 day tests in Warendorf with good results. At his 70 day test Rubinus finished 6th overall out of 24 stallions, with a score of 115.57, he showed he was a versatile stallion with a dressage index of 110,46, and a jumping index of 111,86. Rubinus stood his first few seasons at the Westfalen state stud in Warendorf, where is also successfully in young dressage horse classes.
Rubinus has three very good gaits, demonstrates high rideability, and a good temperament. He is a very easy stallion who loves to work. Rubinus also demonstrates good ability over fences, and jumps in very good form.
Rubinus has also been successful as a sire, with several foals from his first foal crops qualifying for the German Foal Championships in Lienen. In 2006 Rubinus sired the 2nd Reserve Champion foal at the foal championships. Rubinus’s oldest offspring have also started competing successfully in sport in Germany.
Azalia is a lovely mare and all I hope for this cross is a lighter forehand which should in turn add lightness, bounce and power the movement
